Adult Spiritual Development

USG offers an eclectic selection of courses each semester to provide participants the opportunity to explore our spirituality and develop community.  Some courses explore our UU heritage and values; others involve a much broader and sometimes untraditional approach.  Courses may be experiential or more didactic.  Generally they may include anything that is intended to deepen the participants' knowledge and understanding of our UU foundations, or connection to our deeper selves, the greater world, or the essential mystery of life.

Prior courses have included

  • Our American Roots -- the history of UUism in America
  • A Chosen Faith -- based on the book of the same name
  • The Transient and the Permanent, based on the theology of Theodore Parker

We welcome ideas for courses, and love to hear from people who have courses they would like to lead.  Send an email to the Adult Spiritual Development Committee c/o the Church Administrator (usguu@verizon.net), and include a description of what you want to offer and your contact information.  The committee considers various course options in putting together a balanced and enriching curriculum each semester.
