Earth Honoring Traditions

USG draws on the traditions of many sources to celebrate our relationship to the earth – Native American, Wiccan, Celtic, and others.

With drumming, chanting, poetry, and prayer, we hold seasonal rituals for the solstices and equinoxes in our grove behind the church.

We also meet monthly (the first Monday of the month from September through June) for a JOURNEY CIRCLE led by Wally Moyer. From 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., we will do as many journeys as we can and share about our journey. Please bring snacks or juice to share, something to lie on, pencil or pen and a few sheets of paper, and a scarf or something similar to cover your eyes.

First we will smudge the space and call the directions. Wally will teach you what a journey is and how to journey, or you can journey in any way you've been taught. There will be rhythmic drumming during the journey and a call back. The first journey will be only about 10 minutes. You can find some general information about journeying at www.shamanlinks.net/Journey.htm, or contact Wally Moyer with questions WalterMoyer@TheBottomLineInc.net
